Premier's Reading Challenge 2017

27th March 2017

Is your child taking up the Challenge in 2017?

If so, please ensure they fill in their student reading records as they read their books, get them signed off as they go and please make sure your child hands theirs in to their teacher or Mrs Richards by: Friday 8 September 2017.

The Challenge is to read 12 books in total. In:

• Reception to Year 7, 8 of these books are to be from the Challenge booklists, available on the PRC website www.premiersreadingchallenge.sa.edu.au/prc/a8_publish/modules/readingchallenge/ and 4 of their choice

• Years 8 and 9, students read 4 books from the Challenge lists and 8 of their own choice

• Years 10 to 12, students read 12 books of their own choice, and these can include prescribed texts and any other texts from their studies.

Student reading records have either been handed out by class teachers or in some cases kept in class for access as students complete individual books. If you need a new record form please click the following link: www.premiersreadingchallenge.sa.edu.au/prc/pages/staff/readingrecords/?reFlag=1

Your son/daughter can also Rate a Read, reviewing the books that they are reading and sending it in through the website. www.premiersreadingchallenge.sa.edu.au/prc/pages/books/ratearead/

A book prize is awarded once a month to a student who has Rated a Read. There is also a student blog on the website for posting and sharing thoughts as they read.

Enjoy the Challenge!
