Student Voice

Student Voice is an active and vital component of the Moonta Area School‘s Guiding Principles. It endeavor’s to promote leadership skills amongst the students and encourages students to be active participants in the policymaking and school decision making processes.

There are two main student voice teams. The Student Voice Executive, consisting of Year 7 to 12 students and the R-6 Action Group, consisting of Reception to Year 6 students.

A female and male School Captain and Vice-Captain from Year 11 and 12 is chosen to represent the whole school. A female and male Junior School Captain from Year 6 is chosen to represent the Reception to Year 6 section of the school. This year we are trialing a Junior Vice-Captain and will review this role at the end of 2015.

Student Voice has three sub-committees, Social, Fundraising and Assembly which have students representatives from Reception to Year 12. Each committee has a chairperson, a representative from the Student Voice Executive, who reports on their activities to the Student Voice Executive.
